Tomato Bisque

    1 28 oz can San Marzano

    Heat butter and olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
    butter: 1 tbsp, olive oil: 1/2 tbsp

    Cook and stir diced onion and diced celery with salt until onion is translucent, 5 to 8 minutes.

    Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

    Add chicken broth and tomatoes into onion mixture.

    Add black pepper , dried basil , paprika , and Creole seasoning . Bring to simmer.

    Reduce heat to low

    Add medium grain rice .

    Let simmer for ⏱️ 35-45 minutes or until vegetables are very tender. Add sugar .

    Blend with an immersion blender until smooth.

    Stir in cream and adjust spices if needed. If soup is too thick, add additional broth.
